Tuition

The Electrical Engineering master’s program (degree-seeking matriculated and non-matriculated) is a self-sustaining, fee-based program charged on a cost per credit basis. Tuition is the same regardless of citizenship status or Washington state residency. Payment is processed through UW Professional & Continuing Education, a part of the UW Continuum College.

Funding

Financial aid

Matriculated students, based on financial status, may be eligible for Department of Education Loans, and are encouraged to fill out the Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) as early as possible. For information on financial aid and a link to the FAFSA visit the UW Bothell Office of Financial Aid & Scholarship.

Students in all fee-based programs are ineligible for the state employee tuition exemption, employee institutional tuition waivers or the UW Undergraduate/Graduate University Grant programs, including the Husky Promise program.

Scholarships and funding opportunities

Graduate scholarships and grant opportunities can be quite competitive and students are encouraged to search widely for opportunities. UW offers a variety of resources to help students get started:

Research and teaching assistant (RA/TA) opportunities for current students

Graduate students in a degree program may be able to work as a research or teaching assistant. There are a limited number of opportunities available every year based on faculty research funding. All available opportunities are communicated to current students and incoming students who have paid the enrollment confirmation deposit as opportunities arise.

Employer educational assistance

Some employers will cover all or part of the cost of a professional education. Check with your employer to see if they offer educational assistance.
