Degree Requirements

The Masters of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering (MSECE) program offers students a choice between a coursework or thesis option. Either option requires students to complete a minimum of 46 credits to earn the degree.

The coursework option requires students to complete:

  • 1 credit B EE Graduate Seminar
  • 5 credits of advanced (project) coursework
  • 40 credits of B EE electives

The thesis option requires students to complete:

  • 1 credit B EE Graduate Seminar
  • 10 thesis credits
  • 35 credits of B EE electives

Students planning to pursue the thesis option should meet with the MSECE Graduate Advisor early in their degree to discuss potential thesis subjects, receive information on thesis requirements, and solidify their decision to pursue a thesis. Students must decide which degree option they will complete by the end of their third quarter.
