Academic Technologies News

April 2022

Please take a moment to read the inaugural quarterly news from the Digital Learning & Engagement Group. In this edition:

Recap: Meeting With The Chancellor

In December we had the opportunity to share some time with our new chancellor Kristin Esteberg and two amazing faculty, Deborah Hathaway and Alan Wood. We spent an hour looking at two courses that Alan and Deborah have created and discussing, why they work and how they fit into the Bothell vision of access. Alan, a founding faculty at Bothell and a faculty emeritus, shared that he sees online learning and hybrid courses as an expression of the original Bothell mission of getting access to those who could not otherwise attend face to face classes in Seattle.

Featuring Our Amazing Faculty: Dr. Chris Wade

Our colleague Chis Wade makes amazing videos. He makes them for his classes and often other faculty use them in their courses. He is very serious about them as is evidenced by his YouTube Channel. This month we are wondering about videos- who makes them, where they go, and what they do when they get there. Have you ever wondered about that?
