ePortfolios

At UW Bothell, we generally support two ePortfolio tools: New Google Sites and Canvas ePortfolios. Other tools are also available for students to use. Faculty members, please contact the Teaching and Learning Collaborative if you have any questions or need assistance.

Student support

We have access to great tutors and assistance for students, weekdays during the academic quarters. To set up an appointment, go to The Open Learning Lab website.

Student content in UW Google Drive

After the end of quarter and especially before graduation, students should add a personal Gmail address as editor to any content under their UW email address in Google Drive in order to duplicate content from the personal Gmail account. Another option is to back up content using the instructions provided in the Google Sites and File Archiving website.

Access to the UW Google Suite ends after one quarter plus 10 days following graduation after which all content connected to those accounts is deleted.

New Google Sites

Google announced the New Google Sites release and it became available to UW G Suites in 2017. Program-specific tutorials are located in the ePortfolio Tutorials section of this page. To use any of the Google tools under your UW account, you will need to first activate your G Suite.

Canvas ePortfolios

Another available ePortfolio interface is located in Canvas, within each user profile. Canvas ePortfolios offer a simple, no-frills, easy-to-edit, secure interface. To learn more about this tool, check out this general Canvas ePortfolio Tutorial.

Other ePortfolio options

There are many free tools available students can use to create their ePortfolios such as WordPress, Blogger, Wix, Edublogs, etc. The Explore Other ePortfolio Options page offers examples and links to more information regarding these tools. Feel free to contact IT Digital Learning at uwbdl@uw.edu if you have any questions.
