Student Technology Resource Guide
Technology Resources for Students
As we prepare for the upcoming quarter, we are reminding you of some of the technology resources available to your students.
Student Technology Referral
There are multiple ways that students who may not have resources can get assistance with acquiring the technology. If you are aware of a student in need of a laptop/hotspot, please submit an EAB Navigate Alert. Alerts are found in the top right hand column on each student’s page.
Choosing the “Limited Access to Technology” alert option automatically sends the student a link to the loan program webpage and form. Students will be connected with folks who can assist with appropriate options. Any questions, please contact: Wendi Maze
Laptops & Hotspot Checkout
UWB IT has a limited number of mid-range laptops and hotspots for student checkout. Students will be able to install software as needed. Please have students fill out this form to request a laptop or hotspot.
Remote Computer and Software Access
This temporary emergency service has been extended in a limited capacity through Summer 2023. This allows students to Remote Desktop from any off-campus computer to on-campus UW Bothell computers. By connecting to our computers, students will have access to the software needed for coursework that they may not have at home. Please advise students not to save work locally on these computers and direct them to this webpage for a list of all available software and additional information and instructions.
Open Learning Lab (OLL)
The Open Learning Lab (OLL), located in UW2-140 and open 8am-8pm Monday-Friday, is the only dedicated drop-in computer lab at UW Bothell for all students regardless of degree or major. Student tutors offer in-person support and assistance on digital media software and campus eLearning tools.
Free and Reduced Cost Software
The University has many software packages available via the UW-IT’s UWare program. Examples include: Adobe Creative Cloud, SPSS, MS Office.
AV / Media Checkout
This service is available for faculty and students. For more information regarding the checkout service, visit UWB IT’s Equipment Checkout webpage.
