Career resources for international students

Welcome! UW Bothell is a rich international community and is proud to have international students living, working, and pursuing academics on our campus. Career Services is here to support international students seeking professional development opportunities such as internships and employment.

First steps

If interested in building internship and job experience in the US, all international students should:

  1. Visit the UW Bothell International Student Services (ISS) website for information including Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT). Check out the ISS events calendar for CPT and OPT workshops.
  2. Know what you have to offer employers (relevant skills and strengths) and articulate your value effectively in your resumes, cover letters and interviews. Make an appointment with Career Services to review your application materials.
  3. Establish a variety of career plans, which could include conducting a strategic job search for opportunities in the US and in your home country.
  4. Utilize a variety of resources, including those listed below.
