UW Bothell Midcareer Faculty Fellowship

4 awards granted each academic year. Applications considered in winter quarter.

The Midcareer Faculty Fellowship is a competitively awarded fellowship that provides a scholarship-focused quarter to associate professors and associate teaching professors whose progress toward promotion slowed due to intensive service or teaching responsibilities that have exceeded the norm. Award recipients will be provided one course release to be used during the quarter with the lowest teaching load. Courses should be rearranged so that a course release would result in a quarter of no teaching. The award may be scheduled in conjunction with an approved sabbatical leave.

The Office of Faculty Success will provide up to four awards per year. Priority will be given to faculty who have completed five or more years of service-in-rank.* Application instructions can be found here. The January 31, 2024 has passed. The application is now closed. The funding term is September 16, 2024 through June 15, 2025.

*Service-in-rank refers to the number of years in the current position. For teaching track faculty, this refers to years in the teaching professorial track (and not the former UW lecturer titles, that did not require scholarship for promotion).
