IAS faculty poster on team teaching recognized

IAS faculty members Kristin Gustafson and Amy Lambert created a poster on team teaching for the UW’s 15th Annual Teaching & Learning Symposium in Seattle. The Gustafson-Lambert poster, “Team Teaching Models for Professional Development and Peer Learning,” was judged one of three winners (out of about 60) based on appearance, content, and presentation.

Women of Color Healing Circle wins T-Mobile grant

IAS students Gloria Giselle Gonzalez-Zapata and Nura A. Abdi founded the Women of Color Healing Circle, a space where women of color can gather to begin healing, build community, and learn to be the revolutionaries of tomorrow. At UW Bothell’s annual Equity & Inclusion Conference, their project won the Create the Change contest, a $5,000 grant to support their continued efforts.

Mary Howisey leads Alumni Council’s Husky 5K efforts

On Saturday, May 18, more than 1,300 walkers, strollers, joggers and runners will take to the streets of Bothell for the 14th Annual UW Bothell Husky 5k. Since the first race in 2006, proceeds from the Husky 5k have resulted in more than $160,000 for scholarships.
