Fitness Center Policies

General Policies

  1. Access to the Fitness Center is restricted to current ARC fee paying Cascadia College and University of Washington Bothell students, as well as Faculty & Staff with the purchase of a membership.
  2. A valid Campus Card or government-issued ID is required for access.
  3. Proper attire is always required. The minimum workout attire must consist of bathing suit coverage of tops and bottoms through full range of motion.
  4. Sandals, open toed or open backed shoes are not permitted.
  5. Food is not allowed in this space. Beverages allowed in shatterproof and covered containers.
  6. Filming and photography are prohibited in the facility.
  7. Store all belongings in Day Use lockers. Lockers available for checkout at the Fitness Center Desk.
  8. ARC staff will determine the music selection on the center’s sound system.
  9. Personal headsets or earbuds are welcome if the volume is not disruptive to others. No personal boom boxes, blue tooth speakers or stereos allowed.
  10. The ARC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
  11. Alcohol, illegal drugs, weapons, and other hazardous items are prohibited in the facility.
  12. Report injuries and/or incidents to the Activities & Recreation Center Staff or by calling 425-352-3580.

Strength Floor

  1. Proper attire is always required. The minimum workout attire must consist of bathing suit coverage of tops and bottoms through full range of motion.
  2. Sandals, open toed or open backed shoes are not permitted.
  3. Filming and photography are prohibited in the facility.
  4. Store all belongings in Day Use lockers. Lockers available for checkout at the Fitness Center Desk.
  5. Clean up chalk and sanitize equipment after use.
  6. Allow others to work in between sets.
  7. Bars, dumbbells and plates must be returned to their proper place/racks after use.
  8. Dropping of equipment is not permitted.
  9. Spotters are strongly recommended when lifting.
  10. Utilize collars and safety racks for all barbell lifts.
  11. Do not remove any equipment from this space.

Cardio Area

  1. Proper attire is always required. The minimum workout attire must consist of bathing suit coverage of tops and bottoms through full range of motion.
  2. Sandals, open toed or open backed shoes are not permitted.
  3. Filming and photography are prohibited in the facility.
  4. Please observe a 30-minute limit on cardio equipment while others are waiting.
  5. Store all belongings in Day Use lockers. Lockers available for checkout at the Fitness Center Desk.
  6. Sanitize equipment after use.
  7. Seek assistance from staff regarding the operation of any equipment.

Locker Room

  1. Store all belongings in Day Use lockers. Lockers available for checkout at the Fitness Center Desk.
  2. Filming and photography are prohibited in the facility.
  3. The ARC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
  4. Limit the use of cell phone conversations in the ARC locker rooms.
  5. Locker rooms are to be used for their intended purpose only.
  6. Report injuries and/or incidents to the Activities & Recreation Center Staff or by calling 425-352-3580.

Studio

  1. Avoid interrupting scheduled activities in progress.
  2. Proper attire is always required. The minimum workout attire must consist of bathing suit coverage of tops and bottoms through full range of motion.
  3. Sandals, open toed or open backed shoes are not permitted.
  4. Filming and photography are prohibited in the facility.
  5. Sanitize equipment after use.
  6. Food is not allowed in this space. Beverages allowed in shatterproof and covered containers.
  7. Use of studio electronics is limited to staff use only.
  8. Personal headsets or earbuds are welcome if the volume is not disruptive to others. No personal boom boxes, blue tooth speakers or stereos allowed.
  9. Do not remove equipment from this space.
  10. All participants in ARC programming must also adhere to all other policies and procedures outlined by the department.
