About
Our mission
The Academic Success Coach guides students towards academic success by assisting students in developing and achieving their short-term and long-term academic, professional and personal goals. The Academic Success Coach empowers students to make the most of their educational journey by not only teaching effective academic skills but also showing them how to apply these skills in their daily lives.
Academic success coaching is available to all UW Bothell students through one-on-one sessions, providing support to improve communication with professors, time management, learning strategies, goal setting and motivation, note-taking, and test-taking skills.
Learning outcomes
The Academic Success Coach serves as a resource to help students grow as scholars and actively engage with both the UW Bothell community and the broader community. They provide students with tools and strategies designed to enhance their learning experience and academic performance.
We support students by helping them:
- Learn how to become strategic learners
- Recognize and utilize both on-campus and off-campus resources available to them
- Identify and build upon their academic strengths
- Engage in self-reflective activities to encourage development of self-efficacy and self-regulation
- Create meaningful and attainable academic, professional and personal goals
- Prioritize their academics while balancing self-care and community care
Appointments & drop-ins
Academic Success Coaching is available by appointment both in-person and on Zoom. You also have the option to drop in during designated drop-in hours. In-person meetings take place in the Academic Learning Commons (ALC) located in room UW2-030.
