IAS faculty member Ching-In Chen has published a new chapbook, Kundiman for Kin :: Information Retrieval for Monsters, which explores familial lineage for monsters and mutants with Portable Press @ Yo-Yo Labs, an independent press which publishes poetic works showcasing “subtle and intense forms of public exchange and autonomous expressions—dynamic in awareness—luminous in form.” As a Finalist for The Leslie Scalapino Award, Kundiman for Kin :: Information Retrieval for Monsters was produced as a staged reading at the New Ohio Theater, directed by Misha Chowdhury.

Chen has donated copies of Kundiman for Kin as part of the activist book fair, Brew & Forge, an ongoing experiment in mobilizing writers to help build social justice movements which will run until December 11 by donating proceeds of book sales to support small, local grassroots organizations. This year’s proceeds will support the Communities Over Cages: Close the Jail ATL campaign.
