IAS faculty member Ted Hiebert presented a meditation on "When thought insults itself" at the Tuning Speculation 6 conference—Auscultations | Occultations, Listening to the Occult—in Bloomington, IN, November 2-4, 2018. The paper argues for metaphor as a an occult strategy for obfuscating dominant forms of technical thinking.
