IAS students launch 2021 issue of Clamor

students launch clamor

Last week, IAS students gathered in person and online to celebrate the launch of the 2021 edition of Clamor, UW Bothell's literary and arts journal. This year the editors worked entirely remotely on this intensive collaborative project, and you can read more about their process in this profile of the journal by Maria Lamarca Anderson, which features interviews with editors Sanika Nalgirkar (MFA in Creative Writing & Poetics '21) and Jennifer Dormier (Media & Communication Studies '21).

The team's work came to fruition on Wednesday June 9th, when hard copies of the journal, printed locally by Consolidated Press in SoDo, were delivered to the UWB campus. The editors hosted a socially-distant journal pick-up event outside the ARC that day, delivering copies to visitors' cars and distributing Clamor tote bags stuffed with the 2020 and 2021 editions as well as copies of the Husky Herald newspaper.

On Friday June 11th, they hosted a virtual launch party for their contributors, with readings, screenings, and artwork from the journal. The digital edition is now live at Clamor-journal.com, and those interested in a physical copy can find them at the library. Copies will be available on campus widely in the autumn, and interested readers are encouraged to contact the editors at clamor@uw.edu.
