Jin-Kyu Jung on living in smart cities
IAS faculty member Jin-Kyu Jung gave a presentation on “Smart Engagement with Citizens Unbound” at the “Join Venture and Joining Governance” session in “The 1st Sejong Smart City Forum” held in Sejong, South Korea. Jung discussed the need to engage closely with the citizens in embracing the diverse perspectives and opportunities of living in the smart cities and how creative encounters with the ordinary citizens are essential for unbinding unprecedented possibilities of the smart city planning. The cases of Smart Seattle and Detroit’s Community Technology Project are shown as examples of smart engagement.
