Julie Shayne discusses The Revolution Question with local feminist organization

the revolution question

Local feminist organization Radical Women invited IAS faculty member and Gender, Women & Sexuality Studies Faculty Coordinator Julie Shayne to speak to their book club about her book The Revolution Question: Feminisms in El Salvador, Chile, and Cuba.

The conversation was a lively exchange about the importance of women in revolutions, parallels between movements in the Americas, the importance of activist scholarship, and documenting radical histories. Shayne’s relationship with Radical Women started many years ago when students in her Histories and Movements of Gender and Sexuality course researched them for the Feminist Community Archive of Washington project.
