IAS dean and faculty member Bruce Burgett published Keywords for American Cultural Studies, Third Edition with New York University Press. Co-edited with Glenn Hendler (Fordham University), the print-digital volume includes 114 essays, 64 in print and 48 online. The Keywords website also includes pedagogical materials to support instructors who teach print or online essays in their courses.

Like the earlier editions published in 2007 and 2014, the volume collects meditations by leading scholars on terms that organize debate and thought across the fields of American studies, cultural studies, critical ethnic studies, and gender and sexuality studies, among others. Since the publication of the first volume, it has become one of the most widely-taught and cited resources across those same fields.
