UW Bothell was recognized in a recent PMLA editor's column for its contributions to the UW's innovative projects in American Indian and Indigenous Studies. Last year, IAS faculty member William Hartmann facilitated a tri-campus collaboration that explored the role of creative community practices in advancing Indigenous wellness. With financial support from the Simpson Center for the Humanities, the UW Bothell Diversity Council, Cascadia College, and the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences, he partnered with the Center for American Indian Research and Native Studies (CAIRNS) to bring the traveling exhibition Lakota Emergence to Mobius Art Gallery and hosted three of its contributing artists for a series of engagements with faculty, students, and local community members.
