This January, IAS faculty member Amaranth Borsuk traveled to Los Angeles to perform at the Armand Hammer Museum in the Hammer Readings, a series that this spring will feature Evie Shockley and Robert Pinsky. The reading marked Borsuk's return to a series that was formative in her own development as a poet while an undergraduate at UCLA. While she was in town, she was interviewed by Naiomi Desai, an editor of Westwind, UCLA's undergraduate literary magazine. At her January 19 reading, Borsuk shared poems from Handiwork (Slope, 2012), Pomegranate Eater (Kore, 2016), and Between Page and Screen (SpringGun Press, 2016). The livestream of her performance is available online.

Earlier in the month, Borsuk traveled to the Atlantic Center for the Arts in Florida as a visiting writer in the MFA of the Americas, a low-residency MFA program of Stetson University that emphasizes "writing in the expanded field." There she gave a poetics talk, "Material Intermedial Poetics," and a reading from her work.
