Kari Lerum Publishes in the Sage Encyclopedia of GLBTQ Studies

sex work and criminalization

IAS faculty member Kari Lerum published an essay on “Sex Work and Criminalization” in the recently released Sage Encyclopedia of GLBTQ Studies. Lerum’s entry explains why sex work is an important topic for GLBTQ studies, including concerns about State regulation of sexuality, the large presence of GLBTQ individuals in the sex trade, and connections between GLBTQ sex work activism with broader movements against over policing, criminalization, and state violence against individuals from minoritized groups.
