Kari Lerum and Julie Shayne Speak on International Women’s Day Panel

UW Bothell’s Student Engagement and Activities organized an International Women’s Day event to “celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women around the world.” IAS faculty members Kari Lerum and Julie Shayne were invited to speak about their own activism and scholarship regarding women and feminism. They led a lively exchange about a whole host of topics including intersectional feminism, transnational resistance, IAS’s soon-to-be-launched Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies major, solidarity, and allyship.
