The Bothell Reporter published an article today on the North Creek Forest that features work being done by IAS students in the Restoration Ecology Network (pictured at left are Environmental Studies majors Nicholas Vradenburg and Kai Farmer). Students from all three University of Washington campuses work to restore portions of the forest, providing fieldwork application of classwork as part of the Restoration Ecology Network (REN). Students in the REN program conduct an eight month long capstone project restoring pieces of the forest. “I think we all have an interest in restoration,” said Environmental Science major Eric Carpenter. “It’s an opportunity that I never got as a student, to take what you’re learning and apply it,” notes IAS faculty member and UW Bothell’s REN Director Warren Gold.
