amaranth borsuk speaks in mexico city

IAS faculty member Amaranth Borsuk speaks at international symposium Máquinas de Inminencia: Estéticas de la Literatura Electrónica in Mexico City. Hosted by the Laboratorio de Literaturas Extendidas y Otras Materialidades (lleom), a working group that draws faculty and graduate students from across UNAM, the event brought together international scholars and artists to discuss electronic literature, net.art, and alternative reading platforms. Borsuk delivered a keynote talk on performative materiality and the role of the reader's hand in several of her recent collaborations, and took part in a panel conversation about digital hybridity with Jan Robert Leegte, Gustavo Romano, Eduardo Kac, and Amanda de la Garza at the Museo del Chopo. Her work will show in the exhibition Literatura electrónica: Política y cuerpo en el presente digital at the Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco (11.12.15-1.17.16). Borsuk also screened her videopoetry, created in collaboration with Andy Fitch, co-author of her 2014 book As We Know, at several sites in October, including the Rabbit Heart Poetry Film festival in Worcester, MA, the Visible Verse festival in Vancouver, BC, and the Videomedeja film festival in Novi Sad, Serbia. Next up, the Institute for Experimental Arts in Athens, Greece in December.
