Peer Mentorship Program
Student Diversity Center
The Peer Mentorship Program, established in 2023 with support from the Office of the Chancellor, was launched in Fall 2024 by the Student Diversity Center to address barriers to student success and enhance retention efforts for second- and third-year UWB students.
Through the program, mentors and mentees will cultivate valuable skills, including leadership, resource navigation, program development, success planning and academic strategies.
The program utilizes a one-to-one peer coaching model combined with group skill-building workshops to help students set and achieve their goals. Through these interactions, participants not only receive personalized guidance from their peer mentors but also connect with a broader community. This supportive environment fosters a strong sense of belonging and empowers students to thrive both academically and personally.
2024 – 2025 Cohort
The current Peer Mentorship cohort includes three mentors and nine mentees.
The program kicks off with an official meeting event and concludes with a celebratory gathering.
Upon successfully completing the program, mentees are awarded a scholarship in recognition of their participation and growth.
