NSF Transitions to Research.gov

NSF Transitioning to New Grant Proposal Submission System

In order to provide a modernized, intuitive environment for proposal preparation and submission, the National Science Foundation (NSF) has begun transitioning their grant submission system.

The transition from FastLane to Research.gov should work to reduce administrative burden via real-time compliance checking, provide online help tips and notes, and incorporate a proposal wizard that walks users through the proposal setup process. Currently, principal investigators can submit a proposal via either system, however, research.gov is the preferred system due to its upgrade in compliance checking. The system transition began in June 2019 so users may have noticed some actions have already moved to Research.gov where, eventually, all proposal preparation and submission functionality with happen. Visit the research.gov FAQ to see what is available in new system.
