Enrollment Verification and Degree Certification

The National Student Clearinghouse is the official site for University of Washington enrollment verification.

For Students (Current and Previous Quarter)

Current (and some former) University of Washington students download the free, electronic enrollment verification instantly via the National Student Clearinghouse after logging into MyUW with a UW NetId.

Be advised that enrollment for the current quarter is not reported out to the National Student Clearinghouse until after after the end of week 2 of the quarter. You will then be able to receive an enrollment certificate through the self-service portal by the end of week 3 of the quarter after the National Student Clearinghouse has updated their records.

If you believe that enrollment verification certificate you have downloaded from the National Student Clearinghouse does not contain sufficient information for the entity requesting proof of enrollment, you must email the UW Bothell Office of the Registrar at uwbreg@uw.edu. Please be sure to include:

  • The National Student Clearinghouse Enrollment Verification Certificate you downloaded through the link at MyUW.
  • A statement as to why this form is not sufficient for the entity requiring proof of enrollment
  • Completed Enrollment Verification form

For Students (Future Quarter)

Future University of Washington students can download the free electronic enrollment verification instantly via the National Student Clearinghouse after logging into MyUW with a UW NetId. You will need to select “advanced registration” in order for the National Student Clearinghouse to pull your future enrollment.

The University of Washington only officially verifies enrollment through the National Student Clearinghouse once the quarter has begun. If you require documentation to indicate you are enrolled for a quarter that has not yet started, as long as you have already registered for courses for that future quarter, you may download an advanced registration certificate instantly via the National Student Clearinghouse. Please make sure you are logged into MyUW with your UWNetID, then select the “Advanced Registration” option. This certificate will indicate that you are pre-registered for a future quarter at UW.

Special Investigators and other government employees are encouraged to use DoD Safe when completing background investigations on students. DoD Safe links should be sent to uwbreg@uw.edu. Emailing release forms containing Social Security Numbers is strongly discouraged as these methods are not encrypted or secured.

If you are unable to use DoD Safe, you may also obtain an unofficial transcript in person during our service hours by presenting your credentials and a signed release of information.
