As we prepare to greet the new year, it’s a perfect time to look back at the memories made and milestone moments across the University of Washington Bothell campus in 2024.
The academic year is punctuated by the end of a chapter for one class and the beginning of a new chapter for another. On June 9, more than 1,400 students in UW Bothell’s Class of 2024 crossed the stage at T-Mobile Park ready to advance in their careers, continue with graduate studies, volunteer for nonprofits — and make a difference in their communities. On Sept. 25, the campus welcomed the second-largest class of incoming first-year students in its 35-year history with 1,118 first-year students.
Just as it welcomed new students this year, the campus also saw the addition of several new academic pathways for students to choose from, including a new Data Visualization major and new minors in Child & Youth Development and in Educational Advocacy & Community Engagement.
In the fall, the campus officially marked the completion of the Residential Village construction, ushering in a bright era of opportunity for more than 600 students who now call the three residence halls their “home” — as well as for the rest of the UW Bothell community as campus activities and events grew in number.
In the end-of-year roundup below, we share some of this year’s news highlights. From 2024’s memorable events to the landmark achievements of students, faculty, staff and alumni, these stories are representative of an extraordinary year for UW Bothell’s campus community.
