Technology MBA

The University of Washington Bothell's nationally ranked MBA programs identify and educate the next generation of leaders in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. The programs emphasize analytical thinking and problem solving grounded in business theory and best practices. Our core curriculum focuses heavily on critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills.

In 1998, UW Bothell became the first school in the region to offer a graduate business program focused on technology management in the Puget Sound region. Today, our graduates span every industry and are spread around the world.

Who are our students?

Technology MBA students passionately believe in the power of technology and innovation to re-imagine global markets.  Our students have professional work experience in a wide range of industries, including technology, manufacturing, biotech, aerospace, consulting, finance, and more.  They come from various business functions within those industries, including accounting, human resources, finance, manufacturing engineering, marketing, operations, and software development. Some students plan on using their MBA degrees to revitalize existing businesses with state of the art knowledge and skills.  Others plan to become entrepreneurs who will help create new businesses and services.

The UW Bothell Technology MBA a diverse student population eager to develop as leaders. The students are passionate about their goals and like to challenge one another to achieve ever greater heights.

Is the TMBA a STEM program?

The TMBA program is a business program, not a science, technology, engineering, or math program (STEM).  The TMBA focuses on learning more about how to manage in technology driven industries.

When and where are classes held?

MBA applicants indicate their cohort preference for required courses, either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays.   On either schedule the students may pursue the Technology MBA, Leadership MBA, or self-selected option.  Required classes for one cohort will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-9:30 p.m.  Required classes for the other cohort will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00-9:30 p.m.   Electives may be on Monday through Thursdays, and on Saturdays.  Times for electives may vary during the week, but are mostly from 6-9:30pm.  Saturday elective classes are usually 9am – 12:30pm / 1:00pm - 4:30pm.
