New faculty orientation

The University of Washington provides several opportunities for new faculty across the university to connect with peers to learn about UW resources. In addition to fall orientation activities offered within individual schools, the University of Washington Bothell hosts a new faculty orientation for full-time faculty at the start of each fall quarter. The orientation provides faculty with an overview of how various units at UWB work with faculty to support their teaching and research.

Promotion & tenure workshops

Each spring, the Office of Faculty Success partners with UW Bothell schools to conduct a promotion and tenure workshop for candidates and committee chairs. The candidate-focused workshops educates candidates about the promotion and tenure process at UW, addresses common candidate questions and concerns, and reviews best practices for creating a dossier. The chair-focused workshops educate chairs on best practices for chairing promotion committees and addresses common issues that may arise during the review process.
