W Day celebrates the founding of the University of Washington, so it’s kind of a birthday party for a very spry 156-year-old.
The event first started in 2011 to commemorate the University's 150th anniversary, and University of Washington Bothell continues the tradition on Friday, Oct. 27, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the plaza.
Huskies show their true colors by wearing purple — and all students, faculty and staff are invited to enjoy live music, carnival games and (while supplies last) free cupcakes burgers, pizza and T-shirts. Pick up a passport and have it stamped at various activities and games; then enter it into a drawing for a prize.

Note, this year’s W Day party is being held on the plaza rather than on Campus Way.
