Commencement: The best day ever
Administrators at UW Bothell are asking graduates to plan ahead this year, as larger graduating classes mean less space for spectators at commencement. At this time, registered graduates will receive four guest tickets. The ceremony will be live-streamed on UWTV.

University of Washington Bothell’s Office of Student Engagement and Activities won a national award for its work to support diversity and inclusion. The American College Personnel Association-College Student Educators International awarded the office the Voice of Inclusion team medallion for the IDEA project.

T-Mobile partners for $5,000 diversity grant
High school and college students in Washington could win a grant of up to $5,000 and mentoring from T-Mobile to complete a project aimed at solving a diversity issue. Students may apply by March 21 by posting a 3-to-5 minute video on the UW Bothell Facebook page. T-Mobile is partnering with the University of Washington Bothell’s Diversity and Inclusion Conference.

Students compete in analyst competition
A team of three University of Washington Bothell business students finished high in the annual competition organized by the Chartered Financial Analysts Society of Seattle. The competition with five other schools came down to three finalists. The University of Washington Bothell team finished second, continuing a tradition of strong showings.

Seven faculty members from the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences and about 20 University of Washington Bothell students, alumni and friends are leading an International Women’s Day celebration with a day-long public presentation of their work at the Northwest Film Forum in Seattle.

CROW student journal taking flight
A new peer-review journal for University of Washington Bothell students called The CROW is about to take flight. The Campus Research and Observational Writings journal is a place to publish research papers and proposals, literature reviews and editorials. Engaging in oil, coal export decisions
The Pacific Northwest’s position between inland coal and oil supplies and Asian markets is the subject of “The Thing Green Line” presentation by Eric de Place, a policy analyst with the Sightline Institute on Tuesday, March 8, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in UW2-131. Student finds UW Bothell a place to start again
Amanda Morgan was a high-school dropout who fled an abusive marriage. But has re-invented herself, thanks to her own initiative and the help of UW Bothell professors. Morgan expects to graduate in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in biology. She hopes to eventually earn a Ph.D. with the goal of understanding and treating neurobiological brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease.
