Student Academic Attire
All UW Bothell Commencement participants must be attired in the appropriate academic apparel as outlined below. All apparel is provided by Oak Hall and must be ordered via the Registration/Order Form from between May 1-19, 2023, and, once ordered, will be available for pick up at Grad Fair. More details below.
Academic apparel is for purchase only. There is no rental option. You can purchase items as a set. Some items may be purchased individually. Pricing will be announced in March.
Bachelor’s Apparel
Attire must include: Black gown w/seal, mortarboard, and degree colored tassel. $59.00
Master’s Apparel
Attire must include: Black master’s gown, mortarboard, black tassel, and degree colored hood. $84.00

Tassel/Hood Colors
Master’s Degree candidates will wear black tassels and hoods varying in color to denote their degree. Bachelor’s Degree candidates will wear tassels varying in color to denote their degree.

Honor Cords
Honor cords are provided by the Commencement Office to all eligible students. If you have a question about your eligibility, please contact the Registrar. Students awarded an honor cord may choose to receive it at Grad Fair or at the Awards & Recognition Ceremony.
Apparel Pickup at Grad Fair
Graduating students can pick up their commencement apparel and guest tickets at Grad Fair. The 2023 Grad Fair will take place May 23 – 25, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the North Creek Events Center, which is located on the east side of the UW Bothell campus. If you can’t make it to Grad Fair, Late Pick-Up will be on Tuesday, June 6, in the UW2 Commons from 4-7 p.m.
If you can’t make Grad Fair or Late Pick-Up, you may ask someone else to pick up for you at either event; however they must have your confirmation order and student ID number in order to pick up your apparel and order.
Refunds/Changes
Refunds for graduation items will be granted on or before the end of the Registration period by completing the Refund Form. Once your form has been submitted, you will not be able to make changes online. Any changes required to your order (e.g., extra tassel) may be requested at Grad Fair when picking up your order.
