Proposal Competiveness

Learn how to design and write an external proposal that engages your reviewers and compels them to advocate for funding your project. This module helps you walk away with a research proposal template that addresses how to organize your research questions, literature review, methodology, timeline, and budget into an elegant, engaging, and efficient proposal. Resources coming in August 2019.

Funding Early Careers

This module describes differences between Foundation-funded and Government-funded research grants, and points you to resources for identifying research opportunities. Many of the early career faculty foundation funding opportunities are described. Most of these are “limited submission” opportunities – which means that there is an internal competition to select the applicants that will be permitted to apply from all UW campuses.  This process is described with tips to increase your chances of success. CAREER Award Prep

This NSF CAREER proposal development modules will guide participants to write and submit a NSF CAREER proposal. Includes the following components:

  1. Guidance for enhancing the competitiveness of each part of the proposal,
  2. Specific writing tasks to be completed between meetings, and
  3. Peer-review and feedback on previously assigned writing.

Undergraduate Research

The Office of Research sponsors an Annual Research and Creative Practice Fair where faculty can recruit students and display research posters.

Also, faculty can recruit undergraduates to their projects any time of year on the Undergraduate and Creative Practice Research Database. We hope you find it to be a useful tool in furthering your research.
