Mentoring offered to new students

When new first-year and transfer students register for their orientation this summer, they’ll be asked whether they’d welcome mentoring by a faculty or staff member or a student peer in these groups: LGBTQ, veterans, first-generation, interfaith, international, students with children, and students with disabilities.

The University of Washington Bothell is home to a diverse body of students and for many, they are the first in their families to attend college. A first generation college student is a student whose parent(s)/legal guardians have not completed a bachelor’s degree at a four-year college or university and are the first in their immediate family to attend a college or university.
