Meet Mohmmed Ismail, HS '23

mohmmed ismailTell us about yourself and what led you to UW Bothell.

I am a senior at the University of Washington Bothell. I grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina before I moved to Seattle Washington in 2008. I grew up playing soccer, basketball, and football. I like to be very athletic and be outside. I am 21 years old and you will always see me outside, doing something productive. I transferred from Cascadia College after my first year. I transferred wanting to go into Physical Therapy before I quickly changed my mind and wanted to get into Medical Device Sales. After doing lots of research and thinking, I have decided that is what I want to do with my life. I am very excited for it.

How did your experience in your coursework help you find your career path (area of focus)?

I think that being around people and wanting to help people is what helped me find my career path. I have grown up helping people, but hating school at the same time. I wanted to do something that didn’t include too much school, but I could help people and save lives. Medical Device sales does just that, even though it is difficult to get into. I wanted to challenge myself with a bit of schooling, and a lot of working.

What are your future plans?

I want to move to San Diego and work as a Medical Device Rep after I graduate college.

Was there a faculty, staff, or student service that had a positive impact on your success?

I think that all the faculty, professors, and staff do everything they can to positively impact all of us on our success. I don’t have any specific faculty or staff members, but I know that they all want us to succeed and graduate with the goals and dreams that we want.
