The award cites the electric charging stations and U-Cars added to campus, plus three bike repair stations that are on the way. They’ll be installed at each end of campus and near the Activities and Recreation Center, said Tony Guerrero, associate vice chancellor for facilities services. Each station includes a bike stand with attached tools.

The award also recognizes the innovative thinking of a task force that meets monthly, focusing on campus parking, bus routes and other ways to commute.

Community Transit CEO Emmett Heath and Chelsea Ingham

Chelsea Ingham, program assistant for commuter services, accepted the award on behalf of UW Bothell Thursday at the transit agency’s 20th annual Choice Connections awards luncheon.

The luncheon honored those who are working to reduce traffic congestion and encouraging riding the bus, sharing a ride, bicycling or walking.
