A chador garment worn by some Muslim women is usually black. That of Anida Yoeu Ali, senior artist-in-residence, is red and sparkly. In this inaugural segment of KUOW’s podcast The Blue Suit, award-winning poet Shin Yu Pai explores Ali’s identity inside and outside The Red Chador.

UW Bothell has received the 2022 Excellence and Innovation Award for Sustainability and Sustainable Development from the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. 

STEM alumnus Adham Baioumy ’19 graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering — which he is now using to design the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for a new STEM building on campus. 

Mary Hammons and Conrad Brown are the 2022 recipients of UW Bothell’s Legacy Award. The couple honor the legacy of their daughter through an endowed scholarship for nursing students.

Through a Libraries Love Lakes project, students in Dr. Avery Cook Shinneman’s Limnology class and the Woodinville Library created kits filled with fun, educational activities to help children in the Bothell area foster an appreciation for lakes.
