 Brad Lakey, who is finishing his master’s in education at University of Washington Bothell, has won a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship Award to teach the next school year in Peru. A Marine Corps veteran, Lakey is UW Bothell’s 10th Fulbright award winner.

Campus Safety Director Cham Kao directs a force of 10 officers, two sergeants, four dispatchers and five part-time students. Kao tells his team their focus is to “ensure that the students who come here have a great college experience -- and find different ways to add value to their experience.” 

A team with two University of Washington Bothell students has advanced to the Sweet Sixteen round of the University of Washington Business Plan Competition. Adam Zhu, right, and Bruno Ouattara and four students from the Seattle campus are the brains behind Aquapel.

University of Washington Bothell ranks among the top colleges and universities in the nation -- and first in the state -- in a listing that compares their return on investment. PayScale.com ranks UW Bothell No. 42 for in-state students and No. 76 for out-of-state students.

The new parking lot in the southwest corner of the University of Washington Bothell campus behind Discovery Hall opened Wednesday, adding 143 spaces for cars and providing some relief from the parking crunch. The new lot brings the total number of parking spaces on the UW Bothell-Cascadia College campus to 2,540, including 54 for the disabled.
