As part of the UW Graduate School, the program is committed to providing a safe, secure, and welcoming learning environment. Students from diverse cultural, historically underrepresented, or disadvantaged backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Applications are reviewed by a committee of graduate faculty and staff. Several elements, including nursing goal statement, resume, letters of recommendation, prior professional and academic work and accomplishments are taken into consideration. Admission is based on acceptance by the UW Graduate School and the Master of Nursing program of the University of Washington Bothell.
The program admits once per year, with a priority application of April 1st unless otherwise extended as noted below. Fall quarter which typically commences end of September. During other quarters, eligible applicants are encouraged to explore enrolling as a graduate non-matriculated student.

The program follows the UW Graduate School policy on the transfer of credits. Applicants may submit a petition for graduate coursework completed in another program or institution to be reviewed for transfer.
Application fee waivers
- UW Alumni: Graduates from across all three campuses are eligible to have the application fee prepaid by the MN program as funding permits. Contact the graduate advisor before submitting your application; Celinda Smith at email@example.com. The program is not able to provide you a reimbursement for the application; it can only pre-pay for an application.
- Need based: Applicants who have financial need and those who participate in the McNairs Scholars or PPIA Fellows programs may be eligible for an application fee waiver from the UW Graduate School. See the UW Graduate School fee waiver policy and application
Applicants who receive a denial decision may petition to appeal the decision within two weeks of the denial.
