It is that time of year again and our Digital Learning team is happy to invite you to stop by our offices during the first week of class for our famous Canvas, Coffee, and Cookies!
We will have some good dark coffee or tea, some excellent cookies, and we can help with Canvas. We will be in our offices in LBA - 204 from 9 am to 4 pm from September 26th to the 30th and we look forward to your visit!
Along with our daily Zoom office hours, this quarter we will be offering some evening office hours as well from 7 to 8 pm on 9/19, 9/22, 9/27, and 9/29.

Our colleague in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, Dr. Chis Wade, makes amazing videos.
He makes them for his classes and often other faculty use them in their courses. He is very serious about them as is evidenced by his YouTube Channel.

Week of Video - April 4th - April 8th
This week we will look at all things video. We will explore how to create videos using various applications/devices and places to share videos online. If you have questions about making videos, you can register and join us on Zoom from 11am to noon, April 4th through the 8th. See daily events on our UWB IT Events page.

Learn the basics of Panopto or how to add quizzes to videos you have already created.

Learn how to record educational videos using Learning Glass, a simple technology that allows you to quickly create short, concise visual lessons with minimal preparations.

We are fortunate to have a Learning Glass lightboard right here on campus available for faculty and staff to use! Learning Glass is a simple technology that allows you to quickly create short, concise visual lessons with minimal preparations. Here are some examples of what your colleagues are creating with it!
Staff updates: Meet Julie Scales
Julie Scales is our new Interim Manager. She comes to us from the Learning Experience team at UW Continuum College where she developed courses for multiple modalities and led DEI learning and engagement efforts. Julie also brings 15 years’ experience teaching adult English Language Learners within the university setting. She holds a Masters Degree (MATESOL) from UW Seattle. Outside of work, you’re likely to find her spending time with friends and family, hiking, or walking her tireless Australian Shepard, Tango.
