Council Member Eligibility
All applicants and appointed IASUSC Council Members shall uphold the following eligibility guidelines:
Be accepted into a major through the School of IAS and enroll in no fewer than five (5) academic credits at the University of Washington Bothell during each quarterly term of service;
Commit to a full-term of service as an IASUSC Council Member;
Be in good academic standing and not on academic probation; and maintain a cumulative or quarterly GPA of at least 2.5;
Have no disciplinary sanctions imposed for violation(s) of the University of Washington Student Conduct Code;
Oblige to serve all IAS constituents with respect to individual differences which may include, but are not limited to: age, cultural background, disability, ethnicity, family status, gender presentation, immigration status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and veteran status.
Beyond these guidelines; Council Members shall also:
Be self-aware leaders who are willing to engage diverse others in their communities, organizations, and networks in service of the School of IAS;
Diligently manage initiatives, projects, and other IASUSC tasks with confidence, creativity, passion, and respect;
Navigate various settings at UW Bothell with a willingness to seek knowledge in and across disciplines, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively and ethically;
Serve as a liaison between IAS students and faculty, staff, and alumni, and the University of Washington at large.
Term of service begins autumn quarter and ends in spring. Summer term is a recess for the Council. Term of service may continue past one year if the student applies for and is selected for a Council Officer position.

All IAS students meeting eligibility and appointment guidelines may apply to serve on the student council. Priority consideration shall be given to students who have been in an IAS major for at least one quarter.
Interested applicants shall submit a cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. The cover letter should address the following prompts:

Qualified applicants should plan to interview for a Council position during the week beginning May 20, 2019. Interviews will be conducted on campus.
