Rob Trumbull Speaks on Visual Culture and Delivers an Invited Talk on the Death Penalty


IAS faculty member Rob Trumbull presented "Seeing and Believing: Derrida on Faith and the Moving Image" as part of a seminar organized around the theme of "Visual Culture and Its Discontents" at the annual conference of the American Comparative Literature Association (ACLA), hosted by Harvard University.  He also gave an invited talk, "The Deconstruction of the Death Penalty: Life and the Phantasm of Sovereignty," and participated in a workshop for graduate students at the University of Alberta on issues related to the French philosopher Jacques Derrida's engagement with the question of the death penalty.
