The Department of Student Affairs promotes and aids in creating a campus climate and culture that respects and celebrates diversity. The department is committed to creating educational programs/events that promote awareness and understanding of diversity, social justice, gender equity, historically underrepresented communities, multiculturalism, and much more.
We advocate and create opportunities to contribute to the success of students of color and underrepresented groups through leadership opportunities, programming, and campus initiatives. Student Affairs creates opportunities for students to make connections between their leadership development and issues including but not limited to race, gender, sexuality, and economic status.
There are a number of ways to get involved with the diversity based programming with the Student Engagement & Activities. Join a student organization, help plan the MLK Jr. Day of Service and/or other diversity events, or start a new program. If you have a new idea or are interested in getting involved with the current programs email firstname.lastname@example.org.
