Kentico web editing support & resources

The Office of Advancement & External Relations (AER) web team produces and manages UW Bothell's website, as well as other critical external and internal digital tools. The work we do enables users throughout the University to engage with their key audiences using platforms that are interactive, reliable, accessible and consistent with the University brand.

Website access & training

The web team offers an introductory editor training and advanced publisher training for employed UW Bothell staff, faculty, and student employees. All trainees must complete the editor training before signing up for the publisher training.


You must have a UW NetID to access Kentico. A portion of the training is interactive and requires trainees to log in to Kentico. Employees cannot use coworker accounts; the trainer will be verifying accounts.

  • UW NetID account
  • Permission to edit - only UW Bothell personnel may request editing access. The trainee's supervisor and primary web publisher written approval are needed. Learn more about getting permission.

Additional training opportunities

Trained web content producers may schedule follow-up training sessions. Those interested can email Please Cc the primary publisher or appropriate publisher and include the full names & NetIDs of all the trainees, the topic(s) to cover, and any other relevant information. 

The AER web team does not offer training or support on other internet (Wordpress, etc.) or intranet (SharePoint, Google sites, etc.) platforms.

Web producer support

Note: the term "web producer" emcompasses the roles of web editor, web publisher, and primary web publishers.

The Office of Advancement & External Relations Web Team has created extensive training resources for our web producers (see Documentation and Accessibility). We also hold weekly office hours open to all UW Bothell web editors.

Office hours are held Tuesdays from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. and most Thursdays 10 a.m. to noon. Email to schedule a time; office hours are cancelled if no reservations are made. Office hours are held via Zoom or Teams but a calendar invite will confirm the location.

Required web standards

All UW Bothell website editors and publishers must maintain UW Bothell & UW brand standards and ensure their content, including electronic documents uploaded to the website, meets accessibility requirements. Please review the doucmentation below for more information.

Trumba event calendar

UW and UW Bothell uses an event calendaring system called Trumba. It provides event registration and the ability to embed individual calendars into websites. Please see event calendar help for an overview, information about access and more.
