RSVP coming soon
The University of Washington Bothell Office of Admissions has been hosting diversity events since 2013. The vision evolved from the desire of the university and admissions staff to empower high school students of color and provide a path for success in higher education. We began with five separate events - Black Opportunity and Leadership Day (BOLD), Día de Avanzando Latinx en Educación (DALE), Pacific Islanders Pursuing Education (PIPE), Reaching American Indian Nations (RAIN), and College Awareness Day.
College Awareness Day 2018 is a conference that offers the four legacy programs (BOLD, DALE, PIPE, and RAIN), with the exciting addition of Asians Connecting and Empowering Students (ACES). We are proud to welcome high school students from all walks of life, as we discuss topics around college awareness and intersectionalities in identity with respect to access and success in higher education.
The day will be broken up into two halves. The first half of the day, students will follow their affinity track (ACES, BOLD, DALE, PIPE, or RAIN), where as a group you will experience a mock university class and an empowering workshop. The second half of the day, all students will come together to explore the college fair and select from a variety of afternoon breakout sessions.
