What is the Writing Skills Assessment (WSA) and when should I take it?
The Writing Skills Assessment (WSA) measures communication and critical thinking skills. Because the WSA score is part of your application, applicants should plan on taking the Writing Skills Assessment (WSA) test prior to the application deadline. Check out the application deadlines here. Visit the Business' WSA site for information about the test, including registration information and a practice exam.
Testing is available at UW Bothell and UW Seattle. Test scores will be expedited to the UW Bothell business program if the test is taken at UW Bothell.
Is there an alternative to the Writing Skills Assessment (WSA)?
Another option to meet the Business writing requirement is by obtaining a score of 500+ on the SAT W (Writing). Please note SAT W scores are only valid for five years from the test date.
What is the process for submitting Letters of Recommendation?
Download the Recommendation Form. Fill out Section A, then give the forms to the people writing the recommendations, along with a stamped envelope addressed to:
University of Washington Bothell
Office of Admissions, Box 358500
18115 Campus Way NE
Bothell, WA 98011-8246
Two recommendations are required for the Nursing and T-Cert programs.
I am applying as a Pre-Nursing student. Do I need a separate application to start the Nursing program?
As long as you enroll at UW Bothell as a Pre-Nursing student and are in active status, you do not need to submit an additional online application. You will be required to complete and submit an internal change of major form to the Registrar’s Office. This form is available through your Nursing program advisor.
