Favorite Books: "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius" by Dave Eggers (really anything by Dave Eggers), "Jayber Crow" by Wendell Berry (again, really anything by Wendell Berry), "Man’s Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl, and "Cloud Atlas" by David Mitchell to name a few. Honestly, if I give you the whole list, I will break the internet. I love to read!
Favorite Sports Team: This is really a lose-lose-lose answer for me in Husky/Seahawks/Mariners territory…I love the Oregon State Beavers, The San Francisco 49ers, the San Francisco Giants, and the Portland Trailblazers. Of course, I do root for the Huskies when they are not playing the Beavs!

Favorite Restaurant in Bothell: It has to be McMenamins Anderson School. As a native Oregonian, McMenamins is an institution. I am so glad to see that they are making their way Northward. I usually get the Anderson School Cheeseburger with a side of tater tots. I love tater tots.
Favorite College Experience: I was a tour guide as an undergrad. That experience laid the foundation for my interest and opportunity in college admissions. I made friends that I still talk with today and found my life’s work. Not bad for a student gig!
Favorite WA Activity: Anything outdoors. It is BEAUTIFUL here. Kayaking, hiking, walking, camping, backpacking and everything in between.
Main Attraction at UW Bothell: The curriculum and the faculty here are world class. The fact that our degree programs are constructed to meet the needs of our vibrant economy here in the Puget Sound region is a big reason UW Bothell students earn more on average than graduates of any other college in Washington.
Advice for High School Students: You are in control of almost every factor that impacts your ability to attend the college of your dreams. Don’t be passive, take the lead on your situation and push towards your ultimate goals no matter how lofty. Also, have fun. You will have all the serious you can handle when you reach the real world. Don’t miss out on the good stuff.
