By investing in the UW Bothell School of STEM today, you are investing in the economic vitality of the Puget Sound region tomorrow. Your gift will lead to transformational change for the students we serve, their families, and our community.
We believe diversity of perspective and ideas drive innovation. Over a third of students at UW Bothell are first generation college students - the first in their families to attend college - and 64% are from diverse backgrounds. With nearly 40% of incoming students indicating a desire to pursue a STEM degree, it is UW Bothell's responsibility and privilege to equip and empower more students to successfully graduate in STEM.
ACCESS AND OPPORTUNITY
We can increase access and opportunity in STEM to students of great promise from all backgrounds by providing scholarships to students with demonstrated financial need. Scholarship funding, along with enhanced student programming, help increase persistence, retention, and graduation rates and open the doors to opportunity for underserved STEM students.
We integrate hands-on, real-world experiences as part of our curriculum to prepare workforce-ready graduates. We want to increase these opportunities like undergraduate research, capstones, and industry internships though meaningful partnerships with local industry and community organizations wishing to engage with us to explore research questions and innovative ideas while driving economic development.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND EMERGING INITIATIVES
To offer students the highest-caliber academic experience possible, we will continue to recruit and support faculty who are committed to excellence in teaching and innovative research. Flexible funds will also enable us to sustain and develop programs that advance the School’s values of collaboration, opportunity, rigor, and engagement on behalf of students and the community we serve.
