At UW Bothell, we support three eportfolio environments:
- Google Sites (until deprecation)
- New Google Sites
- Canvas ePorfolios
We have access to great tutors and assistance for students at the Digital Learning Lab, located in UW2-140, Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
All students, faculty and staff have access to Google Sites as part of the G Suite via their UW account. Google Sites has provided a stable, easy-to-use interface for many programs at UW Bothell. On November 2016, Google announced the New Google Sites release and it became available to UW G Suites in 2017. Many programs are still using the now "old" Google Sites, but we have began migrating to the New Google Sites before it fully deprecates. Program-specific tutorials are located in the ePorfolio Tutorials section of this page.
Programs Using the Old Google Sites
Interdisciplinary Arts & Science (IAS), Masters of Nursing (MN) or Health Studies (HS), still use the old Google sites.
Programs Using the New Google Sites
BIS 499 is currently migrating to the New Google Sites.
Interested in Using Google Sites for Other Purposes?
If you are interested in Google Sites for some other kind of ePortfolio or are interested in Google Sites for some other kind of project, we recommend starting with the Google Sites Frequently Asked Questions page.
Another available eportfolio interface is located in Canvas, within each user profile. Canvas eportfolios offer a simple, no-frills, easy-to-edit, and secure interface. To learn more about this tool, check out this general Canvas ePortfolio Tutorial.
Programs Using Canvas ePortfolios
Currently, the First Year Pre-Major Program (FYPP) via the Discovery Core series and the Special Education Endorsement (SPED) are the only program using Canvas ePortfolio. Specific instructions for Discovery Core and the SPED programs are located in the ePorfolio Tutorials section of this page.
About UW G Suite
UW G Suite is a collection of web tools that let users easily collaborate with others on assignments and other tasks. The University of Washington has partnered with Google to provide the G Suite for UW faculty, staff, and students. The UW G Suite is tied to your UW NetID and is different from a personal Google Account. Currently, your NetID will not provide access to any other Google Tools outside of UW G Suite and vice-versa for personal Google Accounts.
